Kazna was invited by Paper Bag Africa and the British Council to participate in I Wear My Culture—a Zimbabwean project mentoring designers to create work that sustains and protects the country’s ethnic tribes and cultural heritage.

The initiative culminated in a fashion show, where Kazna presented pieces that expressed how she embodies and “wears” her own tribal culture and heritage. In Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, she also joined a panel discussion with local designers, archivists, and
representatives from the British Council, exploring themes of archiving culture, fostering craftsmanship, and the ways we continue to ‘wear our culture’ today.

‘I loved my trip to Zim and all the amazing people and designers I met there! I learnt so much
about Zimbabwe culture, tribes and traditions and was super inspired that a project like ‘I Wear My
Culture’ is able to exist to preserve heritage and encourage creativity.’
