MEET THE DESIGNER
Kazna Asker is a fashion designer that has created a brand encompassing the values associated with community, activism and charity.
Kazna is currently part of the BFC NEWGEN cohort and recently participated in Fashion Trust Arabia and won the Debut Talent Prize, representing her home country of Yemen as well as her local community in Sheffield, UK.
Asker graduated from Central Saint Martin’s becoming the first designer to showcase a Hijabi collection at the CSM’s MA Fashion show at London Fashion Week 2022. Her work has been featured in VogueRunway, Vogue Italia, Vogue Arabia, 10Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia as well as the Sheffield Star. She was also featured in the Kurt Geiger’s People Empowerment Campaign to represent kindness in which her designs were featured on billboards across Dubai.
Alongside her political activism through fashion, Kazna has contributed to community projects in her hometown of Sheffield, UK - including the fight for POC teachers at the Sheffield Town Hall.
As well as raising awareness on her hometown Sheffield, she has experience in volunteering with refugees in the Netherlands and working with rural communities in Nepal alongside youth-led charity Restless Development.
Kazna has co-organised community fundraisers for Yemen and Palestine, raising over £20,000 for charity over the last 5 years, as well as starting her own charity project in designing and selling T-shirts in which she has currently raised over £6000 for Yemen.
