Asker’s debut MA collection ‘Watered by one Water’ combines her British Northern upbringing with her Yemeni heritage. The collection features a mixture of technical fabrics, often used for outerwear and tracksuits, alongside traditional woven Middle-Eastern fabrics and scarfs. Inspired her local community in Sheffield, Asker would often see her grandma and aunties in Islamic clothing and silhouettes beside their children who were wearing sportswear tracksuits. Combining these two worlds of culture, Asker presented the first ever Hijabi collection to grace the Central Saint Martins runway at London Fashion Week.
